New Journey Youth Programs

As leaders of the New Journey youth program, we strive to inspire our youth to live above our culture by teaching them to develop a personal relationship with God, and equipping them with tools to lead their generation as committed Christ-followers.

… But that’s a long mission statement to teach kids, so we shortened it into this little anthem:

Pursue God (with everything!)
Point others (toward God!)
Perspective (I want God’s!)

About our New Journey Church Youth Programs

We strive to teach kids to pursue God with their heart, soul, mind, and strength. (Deuteronomy 6:5). A real, living, thriving, growing relationship can start at their age; it’s not just for grown-ups. Many of the habits formed between the ages of ten and twenty last a lifetime. We believe that this is the perfect time for kids to start making their faith their own, start digging into God’s Word, praying independently, and mimicking Christ’s actions.

We encourage kids to point others toward God. In Jeremiah chapter 1, God had this message for the prophet: 7 The Lord replied, “Don’t say, ‘I’m too young,’ for you must go wherever I send you and say whatever I tell you. 8 And don’t be afraid of the people, for I will be with you and will protect you. I, the Lord, have spoken!” (NLT) Age doesn’t matter to God. He uses kids in his kingdom! Jeremiah, Mary, the mother of Jesus, and Daniel are all examples. We teach kids how to point others toward God in various community service activities, lessons about witnessing, living as a light for Jesus every day, and church–related service projects.

We also strive to teach kids to have God’s perspective. In Colossians 3:1-2, the Message says it this way “So if you’re serious about living this new resurrection life with Christ, act like it. Pursue the things over which Christ presides. Don’t shuffle along, eyes to the ground, absorbed with the things right in front of you. Look up, and be alert to what is going on around Christ—that’s where the action is. See things from his perspective.” We live in a distracting and confusing culture.

We challenge our kids to get grounded in their faith, and live according to the Bible, regardless of what their culture tells them to do.

Youth Events!

We encourage our youth to attend activities hosted by Harmony Hill Youth Ministries, located in Fulton, MO. Each summer they put on Harmony Hill Kids Kamp for kids ages 9-13, and Harmony Hill Youth Camp for kids ages 13-20. Each fall they also host a Harmony Hill Youth Retreat for kids ages 13-20.

See hhyc.net for upcoming events and more details.

We strongly support youth involvement in missions. Harmony Hill Compass Ministries is a cooperative effort among Kansas Christian College, Harmony Hill Youth Ministries, The Churches of God (Holiness) World Mission department, and The Churches of God (Holiness) Home Missions department.

Tim Scott, director of the program, created it with the following purposes:

Compass Ministries exists to give young people an opportunity to minister to those less fortunate, to open the eyes of young people to the needs of others, to assist missionaries in spreading the gospel, and to expand the reach of HHYC and World Missions.

Each year, they send young people on trips around the globe with this purpose. We highly encourage our kids to participate.

We are committed to helping your kids follow Jesus!
